What Can Baobab Do For You?

What Can Baobab Do For You?

For centuries, Africans have known the benefits of Baobab or mabuyu as we call it in Swahili, but it seems we forgot about it. Baobab oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the tree and has found a great organic source in Kilifi.

This superfood oil is rich in vitamins A, D, E and F, fatty acids and antioxidants. The oil is packaged in a dark glass bottle to prevent oxidation of the oil and damage from the sun.

Here are some of the benefits for face, body and hair:

Face Benefits:

  1. Moisturizing: Baobab oil deeply hydrates the skin, making it ideal for dry and sensitive skin types.
  2. Anti-aging: Its high vitamin C content promotes collagen production, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  3. Healing: The oil has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, helping to soothe and repair skin, reducing redness and irritation.
  4. Non-comedogenic: It won’t clog pores, making it suitable for acne-prone skin.

You can make this the final step in your skincare routine by placing 4 drops around you face and massaging it in with your fingertips before you go to bed

Body Benefits:

  1. Skin Softening: Regular use leaves skin feeling soft, smooth, and supple.
  2. Elasticity: Helps improve skin elasticity, which can be beneficial for stretch marks and scars.
  3. Anti-inflammatory: Reduces inflammation and irritation, making it useful for conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
  4. Nourishing: Packed with essential fatty acids, it nourishes and revitalizes the skin.

You can add 5-10 drops to your daily moisturizer.

Hair Benefits:

  1. Hydrating: Moisturizes the scalp and hair, reducing dryness and flakiness.
  2. Strengthening: Strengthens hair strands, reducing breakage and promoting healthy growth.
  3. Shine and Softness: Adds natural shine and softness to hair without making it greasy.
  4. Scalp Health: Its anti-inflammatory properties help maintain a healthy scalp, reducing dandruff and itching.

You can add 5-10 drops to your deep conditioner; or massage into your scalp and work it into the rest of your hair, adding some to the ends of your hair.
