I have mixed my own butters, lotions and potions since I was a child. It was fun, the scientist in me enjoyed creating new formulas and playing with ingredients. I never really struggled with my skin until I started working out in my early 30s. A friend said it was the testosterone boost that was introducing me to acne. Still, it wasn’t that bad until I got pregnant in 2014 and then even my siblings were laughing at me.

In 2018, my son was 3 but still the acne that started with pregnancy persisted. Randomly, a YouTube video introduced me to the Korean 10 step routine and my skin finally cleared up in 2 short weeks. I was hooked… and so curious, what misinformation had I absorbed all these years? How could these super pricey products be made more accessible for Africans? Are there considerations to be made for melanin rich skin? I also noticed that the high-end products boast of baobab, castor, avocado, macadamia etc all of which are grown in Kenya…it got me thinking… got me researching … got me formulating and testing… it is now 2024 and I am excited to introduce you to Yummy Beauty….
